Description
A rare and poignant early 19th century mourning brooch, featuring plaited hair preserved under glass, with an engraved inscription dated 1803 to the reverse.

The delicate arrangement of hair beneath glass and the hand-engraved date are consistent with authentic mourning pieces of this era.
